PICTURE DAY!!!

Hi everyone, Lyla here with another layout featuring Oct's "3 R's" Kit.
I really love this kit and it is perfect for scrapping those school photos that are taken every fall and spring of our  kids.  This photo is of my very first grandson and what a handsome dude he is!!!!lol

I started out with my very favorite paper in this kit....."Studious"...added a strip of "Learning.  Matted the photo with both the Dark Teal and the Dusk Bazzill cardstock.  I added several of those cute elements from the "Elements" sticker page...love those!!! Two little short pieces of  a couple of other papers in the bottom corner.  I then decided to use my rosette die and the Candleglow Yellow Bazzill cardtock to make the award flowers???? Cut and added the ribbons to finish it off.....The alpha is from my stash.
Love how this turned out!!!
Rochelle worked her magic creating this sketch......
now let's see what you come up with!!!

Ready (4) School ~ October Sketch

Hello Everyone!
Here today to share a layout I created using our October "3R's" kit and our October sketch:
I really liked working with this sketch....so many possibilities!
I flipped it and since  my layout was school themed I used my EK Success Binding Edge border punch.   I then folded over one of the layered papers to form a pocket for the tag and card.  Applied eyelets to the tag and the pocket and embellished with twine.  I cut the match flash card from one of the printed papers, cut into a banner shape and mounted on chipboard.
3R's Kit Supplies:
Patterned Papers:
Desire, Studious, Interested, Learning, & Academic
Cardstock Stickers:  Curiosity Details
Small Alphas:  Curiosity Elements
ABC Button:  Life In Bits & Pieces
The Twinery Twine:  "Stone"

Misc Supplies:
Alphas:  Thickers Amy Tan "Goodness"
Recollections eyelets

Thanks for stopping by and check back this week for another DT reveal of our October Sketch!!!

Pre K

Good Morning, Lyla here with my first layout with this wonderful 3 R's kit for Oct.
I used a sketch from PageMaps and started with the dusk cardstock and then layered the dark teal. The background for the photos is the "Learning" paper from Authentique "Curiosity". I cut a 1" strip of candleglow cardstock and used my notebook punch on it.  I cut some number strips from one of the "b" sides of paper and layered it across the top.  Then added the yellow twill ruler tape on top of that.
I cut the library card envelope down to hold 2 of the tags that came in the kit and tied them with some twine from The Twinery. Added some more fussy cut flash cards from the kit as well.  Then I used 2 of the flair buttons that were created EXCLUSIVELY for this kit by BITS AND PIECES.   Lastly added some manila colored journal strips and the PRE K alpha that I painted school bus yellow.
Stay tuned for a fun sketch and another reveal from our great design team.

KICK

Hi, Lyla here with my last layout made with this months kit....kinda sad to see it go...lol....premier kit and all..BUT...we have a great kit for October.

This is my nieces oldest son and he loves to play sports and is very good at all of them...where did all of this talent come from????

I used the "b" side of the paper.  This is loosely based on Brendas sketch this month....lol.
The 3 banners are included in this months "Game On" kit.
I used a big strip of the football paper as the backdrop for the picture.  I then added the thickers "letterman" "kick" and his #23.  Finished off with a couple of die cut stars and a flag (also included in the kit. I did this for my niece so left the journaling strips bare so she could add her comments.

Baseball, Football, Soccer Anyone?

Hello its Brenda here again sharing with you another layout I created announcing the birth of my Goddaughter's baby boy!  When researching announcement ideas on the internet, I found this cute saying  for a boy and thought how appropriate for the papers and embellies from our "Game On" kit.

I stamped on the carob cardstock with white paint and cut the star out using my Cricut.  Then layered the star with a die cut piece, button and bow made from the twine.   The banner strip is actually one of the banner die cuts from the kit, that I cut in half to layer under the photo.
Game On Kit Supplies:
Fancy Pants Patterned Paper:  "LiL Sport" Sports
Bazzill Cardstock:  Carob, Pomegrante
Fancy Pants:  Banner Die cuts
Twinery Twine

Other items used:   Fancy Pants  "Lil Sport" Sticker Fundamentals, Scenic Route Graph Paper

Thanks for stopping by!

Let's GO! Layout

I had so much fun making this layout!!!  "Let's Go" layout is about my little slugger ready to gety his game on!!! lol   This is his first year playing T-ball and he really enjoyed it!

For this layout, I used scraps from the "Game On kit" and added the awesome embellishments that came with the kit.  I had alot of fun with playing with masking on this layout.  I'm not 100% comfortable with white space yet (LOL) so lately, I have been experimenting with masks and paints/mists to fill out the white space.  I used a dark blue mist (looks black here) and a little bit of the red to bring the patterned paper. I added a little piece of corrugated cardboard that I got from an old box laying around my house. I felt that would add a bit of a roughness to my page! :) Lastly, the veneer baseball that comes with the kit is super awesome!!!  I think it adds just the right touch to my page!

Happy Scrappin'!

This Kid Loves To Play Soccer

Hi everyone, Lyla here with another layout made with the "Game On" PREMIER kit featuring the Fancy Pants "Little Sport" paper line.

I used some black cardstock from Bazzill  from my stash for the background.  Across the middle of the page I added a fat strip of the soccer paper.  Don't you love the red, black, white color combo when scrapping!! Anyway, it worked out well for this layout.  I used the frame that was included in the cardstock "Pieces" that came in the kit.  Then I cut some banners from the papers to flair out at the bottom of the framed  picture.  I added  a soccer diecut that was included as an "EXCLUSIVE" die cut for this kit as well as the SCORE diecut on the bottom right hand corner. Last of all I used the red washi tape and made a flag and then stuck a couple of pieces of it on the frame like it is holding the picture  in the frame.
I really like how the layout looks!!!

All Star Layout

Hello... Rochelle here to share with you a layout I made with the Sept. "Game On" kit!

This monthy kit was perfect for my son's baseball photos!  The blues and reds in this kit really brought out the photos well.  I used paint around my edges of the paper strips so that the papers wouldn't blend together.

I also splashed paint on the cardstock just to add a little touch to the page. :)  For the die cut stars, I added glossy accents along with glitter to add some texture. And lastly, I used a sketch from Artful Delight for my inspiration.

I hope my layout was inspiriting to you and if you have some sports photos to scrap, this kit is perfect for you!!! :)

Happy Scrappin'!

“PLAY BALL”

Hi everyone, Lyla here with my Great Grandson playing ball.

This layout was super fun for me because I was able to use my sewing machine to add  the feather stitch around the edge to mimic the stitching on the baseball.
This kit “Game On” featuring the Little Sport paper line from Fancy pants had some really cute banners.  I used the baseball one and tied some twine around it for texture.  I then cut out several different sized baseballs and added them to look like the ball was disappearing in to space…like a HOME RUN???lol I finished it up with a couple of the little flags included on the “Pieces” cardstock sheet and added  the title from the Letterman alpha by Thickers.  I also added some journaling strips that I  attached with the feather stitch.
If you have any photos of  your kids playing sports then this is the kit to get. It covers football, baseball, basketball and soccer…..enough themes to get you through the whole school year.

Fun kit and I can’t wait to see what fabulous creation  Rochelle will share with us tomorrow.

Nana's #1 Star Player!!!

Hello everyone!
Brenda here to share another layout I created using the September "Game On" Kit.
I started off by  punching the edges of my base using my MS Cherish all around punch, one of my favorite punches.   I also used the same punch on the layered piece behind the photo.   To create  the pennant I glued a small stick which had a flat side to it, to the back of the pennant,  cut a circle and added at the #1 and my grandson's name, using mini sticker alphas.  I then tied some of the twine from the kit to jazz  it up a little.  To add a little dimension to the layout I doodled around the baseball paper with a black pen and layered all of the embellishments and photo with chipboard.
This is an old photo of my grandson that needed to get scrapped, and the baseball paper and embellies in this kit worked out perfectly!
Kit Supplies:
Patterned Papers:   Fancy Pants Baseball, Ball Player
Cardstock:  Promegrante
Twine:  Twinery "Shore"
Diecuts:  Fancy Pants Banner & Pieces Diecuts
Thank you for stopping by today.
Please come back tomorrow and check out what Lyla has to share with you!

Final Introduction of Our Design Team!!!

Hello and welcome!
Today we are introducing our final Design Team member.
Please meet the sweet, hilarious creator/owner of this wonderful site,
Lyla from Idaho:

Hi, my name is Lyla and I live in the beautiful mountains of northern Idaho. I am married to my wonderful, supportive husband and between us we have 9 children, 16 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren....YES, I AM THAT OLD!!!LOL  Having this big of a family there is never a shortage of wonderful pictures to scrap.

I started scrapping with 2 of my grandaughters in 2006.  One of them shares my love of this creative adventure.  I love the fact that I can scrap the familiarities oddities that pop up in the family photos.  I love paper, paper, paper and always on the hunt for the latest and most wonderful papers and embellishments to add to my creations.  I think I am a very clean, simple kind of scrapper, but, love to try new things.  Every now and then I will find some inspiration from all of the creative people in the scrappy world and try to put my own twist on it.

I am very excited to  be sharing this adventure with two very awesome ladies, Brenda and Rochelle.   They are very creative, talented scrappers and wonderful friends.   I can't wait to see where this adventure leads  us!!!
Lyla

Introducing Another Design Team Member!!!

Happy Monday!
Thanks for stopping by, we love visitors!
Today we are back to introduce you to another one of our Design Team members.
Meet Brenda form Oregon:
Hello ! My name is Brenda Ragsdale and I am so excited to be joining the MOB design team and working with two awesome ladies!!!! I am a native of California currently residing in Oregon. I am mother to two awesome adult sons and GrandDiva to two beautiful granddaughters and two handsome grandsons.

I prefer creating layouts, and will occasionally create a card or altered item. I would say that my style is more on the clean and simple side. I created my first scrapbook album in 2006 and then quit for a few years and did not seriously start scrapping again until the beginning of 2010. I am so glad that I became addicted to scrapbooking as it is the perfect way to record my family’s history and tell each family members personal story. I like scrapping the good, bad and the ugly stories and details as it is all a part of our daily existence.

I am looking forward to working with the Lyla and Rochelle as well as inspiring you and seeing some of your beautiful creations.
Brenda

Thank you Brenda for sharing a little about yourself with MOB and it's followers.
Below is Brenda's "Football" themed take on this month's sketch, created using the MOB "Game On" Kit
